Web Directory Submission

To get more targeted visitors to your web site we offer directory submission. Many prospective clients will come to your website from directories, using them as the most accurate source of information on the services and products they look for.

Being submitted to the Web's major directories is very important. Yahoo!, The Open Directory, JoeAnt and several other major directories are known all over the world, and the millions of Internet users who prefer looking through categories will become your new clients, rather than those relying on the lottery of search engine results. It's still important to mention that links from quality directories also improve your overall SEO conditions by means of increasing your site's link authority.

The process

We browse through our database which contains dozens of General, Business, Specialist, Trade, and Local directories and pick out those that best fit your site's topic and goals. Our database includes both free and paid-for directories as well as free directories with optional paid submission. Some directories demand reciprocal links placed on your website in exchange for submission (it's now recommended to stay away from such directories). Besides, we always give you the final decision on whether or not your site will be submitted to certain directories. If a directory gets banned from one of the major search engines, it gets banned from our list, as well. We don't charge you for submitting your site to directories that are spammy or have dubious reputation.

Having got your approval of the list of directories, we start composing titles and descriptions which are necessary for your site submission. We make several versions of titles and descriptions since each directory has its own regulations and requirements regarding the details needed for registration. After agreeing titles and descriptions with you we start submitting your website.

We begin the submission process by selecting the right category within the directories. Then we drill down to the specific product or service area you are offering and research all the vertical directories and enter your company details there. This gives your company the crucial added exposure that cannot be attained through general, unspecific search engine listings alone.

As soon as we have finished the submission process, a report is composed and sent to you. It contains the following details:

  1. Directory title.
  2. Directory URL.
  3. Category your site has been submitted to.
  4. Title and description selected for submission.
  5. Date of submission.
  6. Submission cost (where applicable).

As directories notify us about the acceptance or rejection of your resource, we add the corresponding date and the URL of the page where your information is placed to the previous report. By the way, many free directories may defer the process of reviewing sites for months so you need to be patient - or use paid submission.

We always submit websites manually and never use automatic submission. Apart from being unethical, automatic submission is ineffective, mainly because robots can face a number of obstacles. For instance, when you submit a site to, or log in to, some major directories, you need to enter a turning (security) code, which is an image depicting a number of twisted symbols. This is done specially to prevent robots from entering, as only a human visitor can decipher and type them to complete filling out the submission form (a so-called "captcha"). Another point is that a robot is not able to select the proper title and description specially targeted at the audience specific for your business. Some directories forbid the use of certain words in titles and descriptions, but robots don't see that either, which can lead to rejection of your site. We don't think you need this.
